The 19th Global Media Forum is set to take place on June 23 and 24 2026 at the World Conference Center in Bonn, Germany.

The Global Media Forum serves as a vital platform for dialogue, providing participants with a unique opportunity to engage in discussions on topics such as disinformation, censorship, artificial intelligence, information freedom, global crises and conflicts, media innovation, and diversity. At the forum, media professionals from around the globe are joined by decision-makers and influencers from politics and civil society, culture, education, business and science to discuss the latest sociopolitical issues of our time and how they relate to and are dealt with by the media.

In 2026, the conference will address a current and overarching theme: Under the motto „Journalism out loud,“ the focus will be on polarized public discourse, strengthening trust in the media, and fostering dialogue and resilience. Approximately 1,000 participants from over 120 countries will join this year's DW Global Media Forum, making it a truly global conference for dialogue and innovation in the media sector.

The Global Media Forum is supported by the Federal Foreign Office, the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Foundation for International Dialogue of the Sparkasse in Bonn, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Commissioner of the Federal Government for Culture and Media, and the City of Bonn.
